How to Use a Discount Code#

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy covers a lot of ground, but it never quite answers "Where do I enter this code?" We fill that gap here. If you have a discount code, it reflects in your order price in a few clicks — no seven-and-a-half million years of waiting required.

Entering a Code at Checkout#

When placing a VPS, Domain, or GSLB order, you'll see a "Do you have a discount code?" field below the pricing summary card on the payment step.

  1. Type your code into the field and click Apply.

  2. If the code is valid, the pricing summary updates instantly:

    Line Description
    Subtotal Original sell price
    Discount Amount deducted (shown as a negative)
    Net Price after discount
    VAT Tax calculated on the net amount
    Total Your final amount due

  3. When everything looks right, click Confirm Order.

Setup fees are not discounted

One-time setup fees (where applicable) are not affected by discount codes. The discount applies only to the monthly subscription or domain registration price; VAT is then calculated on the net amount.

Code not working?

Codes that have hit their usage limit, are expired, or don't apply to your account or order type will be rejected with an error message. If you believe the code should work, reach out to support.

Recurring vs. One-Time Codes#

Every code has a defined behaviour:

Recurring Applied at every monthly renewal Applied at registration only
One-time Applied to the first payment only Applied at registration only

If you have a recurring code, the discount applies automatically each month your VPS or GSLB service is active — as long as the code's validity window hasn't closed. The discount is computed live at renewal time and is never baked into stored prices, so it can't accidentally double-apply.

When does the discount end?

When the code's validity period expires or its maximum redemption count is reached, the discount stops automatically. Your next invoice shows the full price — no surprises.

Adding a Code to an Existing Service#

You can attach a discount code to an existing VPS or GSLB service after it has already been provisioned.

  1. Go to Servers (VPS) or GSLB and open the service.
  2. On the service detail page, click the "Add discount code" link.
  3. Enter the code and confirm.

Once validated, the code is applied starting at the next renewal cycle. It does not apply retroactively to the current billing period and there is no immediate charge.

This option is for VPS and GSLB only

Domain renewals run outside the service-renewals cron, so discount codes cannot be attached to a domain after registration. Domain discounts apply at the moment of registration only.

Discounts on Domains#

For domain orders, the discount is applied at registration. Follow the normal checkout steps — the pricing summary will already show the discounted price before you confirm.

Discount codes do not apply to domain renewals — renewal pricing is calculated independently.

Where Do Codes Come From?#

Discount codes are shared through promotional announcements, by our support team, or via special invitations. You cannot generate codes for yourself in the panel — all code constraints (product scope, company restriction, usage limit, validity window) are communicated to you when the code is issued.

Unexpected discount on an invoice?

If you see an unexplained discount line on an invoice, open the invoice detail from the Billing page — the discount appears as a separate line item. If you're still unsure, contact support.
